If you didn't grow up in a violent Urban enviroment and learn street fighting or learn how to defend yourself ... then there are some things you need to know that might just help save you life :drunk:

What I've found works well is, take a personal protection course, learn to handle a weapon (handgun) properly, get a concealed carry license, and trust no one.

Sorry people, but the one fundamental I learned in Marine Corps boot camp is TRUST NO ONE.

I grew up in Detroit in the good old days. Spent 10yrs. in a bike club. ===I NEVER went anywhere without my little "buddy"

I'm partial to my Kimber Ultra Carry .45, with the crimson trace laser grip. Point 'n click is my motto.

I have a concealed weapons permit and Have a H K .40 cal SW police special ..
Dont ever want to use it ,, but if I did It won't fail me !!

No one should ever want to be in that position. However, I trust my own ability to defend myself and my family, far more than I trust the government or local law enforcement to be there when I need them. Thus, I have taken the responsibility, and should it be necessary, I'll carry that burden. But not because I want to.

By the way, Kimber is definitely the way to go. I have an Ultra Carry .45, and an Eclipse 10mm. If they have to be used, they'd better work big time, in short order.

Praying for divine protection is on my agenda everyday ...
