It's much easier to "confiscate" through 401k plans, stocks, bonds, and etc..
etc. which most people have, for example... "paper" holdings.
Not alot of people will have gold and silver.
They see the "writing on the wall" and still IGNORE all the warning signs.:rolleye03
But if they do...."It will be over my dead body".

you need to buy food and agold and silver and guns and food storage systems--i have begun buying cans of food that i like at what would be considered extremely cheap right now if anything were to happen---best places to buy are not large chains but small local stores-- ifind them cheaper buy about 30 %---

Dont forget about...water. We need it more than food.
The average person can last 3 days w/o water or
2 weeks w/o food. A good thing to do if you have
extra space in your backyard is to have a small farm.
You can grow your own food. I stock wines. I will need
to be drunk to ease the misery and pain.

Hahaha all you want too.
Is in it better to "prepare" ahead of time? Instead of getting caught with
your pants down, which will happen to the majority of us. And all that will
be left is leftovers. If there are any. You will be forced to eat food you don't
like because all the good food will be gone.
Panic "will" set in. Maybe you have never been thru panic
before?
WHEN this does happen, you won't be given all the time in the world to
get the things you need. No casual "strolls" to the supermarket to get
your favorite food like you do now. No feelings of warm and fuzziness
when you enter.
You will have to drive or run as fast
as you can to get the goods. Even if you have to beat, shoot, or rob
from the next person TRYING to do the SAME as YOU.
With so much information on the "internet" you can actually find out
the time frame this will happen.
He who prepares himself will have the last laugh.
Ignorance is bliss.
Continue living in dreamland.
Chaos is the outcome.
Survival is King.
Leaving aside the survivalist and apocalyptic arguments. Gold and Silver are both great investments as I see inflation in ALL fiat currencies in the years ahead. I have educated myself on the dynamics of the gold/silver markets over the past few years and I can say that the current spot price of both metals is way out of whack from the supply/demand situation. Many metals dealers with whom I've spoken are out of or very low on physical silver. The action on futures market has seen paper traders surpressing the price of both silver and gold for years (ever since the Hunt Brothers fiasco) but without the backing of the actual metals...there is actually quite a controversy about this phenomenon which has prompted calls of price tampering from some commentators. The years of strange action in Gold/Silver prices has prompted longstanding producers of these metals to enter into hedged contracts with major buyers (probably the exchanges themselves) to ensure that they don't get squeezed by the price manipulation.
Of course, any situation where price does not equal supply=demand is not sustainable forever. I happen to think that the breakdown of the big metals manipulation scam is close at hand. There are many indicators of this from the fact that large producers are starting to de-hedge their production, and the price rise in Gold since 2001.
I think there is a lot of upside in both silver and gold. Note, I believe that Silver is a better buy. If you look at the historical ratio of Gold:Silver you will see that silver is undervalued even at today's suppressed prices.
I don't think other members of the message board should be subjected to a juvenile firefight.

Well not exactly, but 4 out of 10 people say it beats starvation.
