Well its like this, the US has got to quit sending the GOI Money and make them to start using there own Money than they would have to REVAL the DINAR.

give it time peeps. You have to at least give it another 1 to 2 year window. Yeah, I would like it to be sooner, but I am ready for the wait.

Since 2003, the independent Central Bank, had taken steps to control inflation and to develop a strong currency, he continued. It had succeeded in raising the value of the Iraqi dinar by 15 per cent and would work with the IMF to further tackle severe inflation.

62% inflation IS severe, and it is ENTRENCHED.
The CBI being accountable to the IMF is the only reason they have made any progress with raising the dinars value and successfully begining reducing inflation.

That is exactly right. Everyone needs to stop just giving them money. Let em use their own reserves for a change and they'll realize they need their currency to be worth something

I agree that we should stop giving them money, but by spending the cash that is given to them the more they can save and hopefully support a larger reval.

I for one cannot figure...........Why is my question. Why in the world would you not put a price on your NEW CURRENCY NOW.
Seems to me the goverment of Iraq is still being paid well, so maybe they just don't care or aren't smart enough.
Sounds to me they are using us the USA , train the army , give them supplies, patrol their streets.
Taking our money..............hum whats your imput?
But why would we go through all this trouble to print new currency and then come to a hault. My god how many years now.......Something just don't add up.
I mean start the curency somewhere , 10 cents 20 cents some where for the people. Right now they hav a pocket full of NOTHING. and another day goes by.

Unless they''re receiving these funds in preperation for a reval. Afterall they do need a strong backbone(reserves). I hope this is the case, if not we could be waiting for a while.

Sounds like they are happy where they are, everyone is forgiving debt...why would you want to change things when the entire world is babysitting you.
