Anyone have any idea when the dinar will be offered world wide, and what it will be trading at? Any time line or expected gain? USD=IQD?

Sanctions have been lifted. You can't compare Kuwait with Iraq because Kuwait still had it's infrastructure intact. Iraq is starting from ground zero and rebuilding just about everything. It's going to take time.....

in addition, kuwait's economy was more closed and not as open as iraq's is going to be. it's more prosperous

Yes, it did stop for a while and then came back out at the rate it was closed at. But Kuwait still had it's leadership, banking, stockmarket, and exports still functioning when it restarted. Iraq has a 100x more stuff to do then Kuwait had. Also being a smaller country and smaller population allowed Kuwait to rebound very quickly. They also had monetary reserves to get operations back up and running quickly. Iraq would be more comparible to the rebuilding of Germany. Lots and lots to do!

@ Jared, if the sanctions have been lifted then why are we buying dinar on the black market? not to be the downer I my self own 2million dinar. Iraq is pumping oil , debt has been all most zeroed out, aid is flying in from allmost every direction, the country is rebuilding. so what is the prob.?

I don't think the debt is officially zeroed, is it?

No, it hasn't been zeroed out. I don't think any of it has been officially forgiven. But the trend is in that direction. Supposedly there's a meeting in October to lay the groundwork. Maybe by November, we'll see that $120 billion go down.
