Coin collectors have discovered two variations in the design of a cornstalk on the back of the quarter, which was released last year as part of the state coin series.
Coin dealers have noticed that some of the quarters seem to have an extra cornstalk leaf on the tail side, pointing either up or down, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
An Arizona coin dealer said he started paying $50 each for the quarters when he learned of them, but prices have escalated.
He's now offering a set of three Wisconsin quarters for over $1,000, with individual coins with the variations selling for as much as $600

Hue,
If the mint wasnt sold out of the rolls and bags when this error was found I bet it did in 24 hrs or less.
Remember the Delaware bags that cost $25 from the mint went up to $1000
on ebay once errors were found? And the errors werent nearly as impressive as this one.

I was able to purchase some Wisconsin Coin covers with a quarter from The Phili. and Denver mint plus a stamp in each...$19.97. I got 3 and once I check the coins, I will list one on ebay to recoup my $$$
\
Also I toook $50. to boom town and hit some of the car-washes that had quarter machines...only found (3) regular ones in the bunch :(
hey John, sounds like your on top of this one! Question though...You got three unopenedd bags? Or did you find 3 flawed coins? After you search the coins you still resell them? Wont people know there are no flawed coins?

John,
I told my wife to keep an eye out for them as she works a register sometimes.
Too bad the Texas quarter didnt have a major error, I still need to get one of the off center ones. But even those are rare.
A die break or something must have made the extra ear.
I will definately be checking all my quarters. One would be worth slabbing.
