Thamer Sheikheily, Head of Iraq's Banks said yesterday that the declaration of Iraq's budget was a major step towards transparency. He added that budget echoed Iraq's economic development despite of the current security problems.
Sheikheily pointed out that a detailed reading of the budget would show multiple investment opportunities in Iraq as well as a solid base for partnership with the industrial, trade and banking sectors.
The budget, according to him, also shows the quality development of the country's resources and its future economic plan which were always lacking in previous budgets.
However, he said that the major concern of several economic experts in Iraq had been the removal of Iraq's internal and external debts which would in turn facilitate the financing of several developmental projects.
Many international organizations have been able to acknowledge Iraq's needs through the new budget and mark a new way of dealing with the country which was echoed by the World Bank, IMF and WHO, Sheikheily said.
