View Full Version : Invest Vietnam
Merrill Lynch rated Vietnam as a 10-year BUY; I agreed. I live in HCMC, Vietnam, and I feel the positive changes over the years. You need to be here to feel it. Equities and real estates will continue to boom; I'm in both.

Good question? I mean, we can't litterally buy VN. So is that to mean their currency or any investment??

I have purchased 4 Million Dong but would like to invest in the vietnam stock market.
Has anyone actually done this yet?
how do you go about doing it?
do you have to set up a vietnamese bank account etc like we did with iraq.

I don't think the dong will not appreciate( if at all) in the near future. Vietnam, like China, is an export-oriented developing economy. It needs to keep the dong(same like Yuan) artificially weak to boost exports.

The Dong has been DEVALUED the last 11 years so as to keep their exports low in price.

Ok, you live in VN.....so if you don't see the dong appreciating if at all...why invest in the dong? I could see going to VN while everything is so low and investing in different things if they let me, but that won't be the case for 99% of everyone here (only guessing).
Not trying to be a nasayer, just want to hear your thoughts as you are right there in the middle of everything.
