60 Minutes devotes its entire Memorial Day weekend broadcast to the 1st Battalion of the 133rd Infantry of the Iowa National Guard serving in Iraq. In a rare journalistic effort, Scott Pelley and 60 Minutes cameras follow the battalion and the families for nearly two years, exploring the American experience of war, in Iraq and at home. Shawn Efran is the producer.

He grilled a US Soldier for killing "innocent" people in a hot zone. He was trying to be the impact reporter after the fact when our soldier made a decision based upon the situation.
Scott Pelley is by no means qualified to interview our soldiers, nor is he qualified to question the decisions made on the warfield. The interview was tasteless and showed no class on his part.

It was the usual 60 minutes garbage. National guardsmen, some with fine looking blond babes for wives, others with fat ugly wives, leave their newborns behind and the wives apparently have a mass depression attack while the husbands get pissed off that they have to extend their stays. Most come home, a couple dont, and the overall message is "this is America the beautiful, saving these piss-poor Iraqis who bomb us for no apparent reason". DUMB!!

Quite the re-cap - sorry I missed it.
Time for a new reality show "War Bride Switch - Blondes for Blimps"

Id say that any morale problem has to be due to the fact that you can't buy a local hooker or smoke dope over there. If I had my choice of wars Id have definitely chosen Vietnam for those reasons. And no I wasnt in the service over there but worked in Saudi Arabia for a couple of years. And its not worth any amount of money to be in the big sand pit.

What's in all the Hookah Pipes I see - And prostitution, isn't it the oldest profession? How did the ME get passed over - didn't things begin there - Garden of Eden and all.
And Harems - has to be a local Harem Tent for tourists or something - like a Brothel.
Did you check the yellow pages under Hookah Harems ? Next big thing if not now.

Unfortunately we couldnt leave camp, but we did have beer in camp, but I was definitely jonesing for P and weed and couldnt wait to get my butt home. As soon as I did I quit Petrolab and got a much better job for Texaco in California. No shortage of P and weed there!!
