Thought It would be a good to start a thread for those of us who either are or have been in country with rumors from the Economic Front. That way we have a place just for the incountry rumors. I will try to contribute as much as I can, others feel free. Please try to not discuss past, present or future ops. Just remember OPSEC and use common sense.

Anyone hear of smaller denominations being made for the dinar? Like 1/5/10/etc?

Yes there is a 25 and 50 coin.
There are also smaller bills. Check out Iraq Central Bank website. Search it.

Hmmm...I know there is a 25 and 100 coin, but didn't know about a 50 coin. There is a fifty note. Also, went to the cntral bank site and couldn't find a search function nor info on the smaller denoms...

what's the smallest NID bill you have seen in circulation? the cbi website shows 50, but rumors say otherwise.

I think if we all spend a little time e-mailing the banks in Iraq we may get some good info. Go to www.cbiraq.org, find the list of banks and email them with your questions. I bet somebody there knows something and is more than willing to share.
