Surprising good is the US Trade deficit
08.06.2007 15:28 Friday
Just was released the excellent data for the US Trade Balance for April. With a forecast of -$63.5B, the US Trade deficit for April was -$58.5B. This is much better than any expectations. For the prior month the result was -$63.9B. The deficit in the US falls after the big mainly military expenses from the last couple of months with the war in Iraq. Also the trading with China set the big US trade deficit in the months before.

As the dollar loses value more countries will buy US goods at a chearper price, whereas imports are more expensive thus reducing the amount imported.
So the outcome is More money in, less money out, trade deficit is reduced.
That is about the only good thing about a weak dollar. (along with tourism to the US.)

Yes, but where is our middle class going? Straight out the back door with no good paying jobs left. This has and will continue to greatly concern me. Anyone else?

Concerned enough I took a job that contracts directly with the gov and has no possibility of losing contracts. With the slump in housing and auto sales, yeah I am worried. Did you know that one out of every six jobs is directly or indirectly affected by auto sales in the United States? My feeling is seek security during this period.

As the dollar gets weaker abroad, it will cost more to move Corps and Jobs out of the country, so jobs will eventually come back. As the dollar gets stronger is when the Corporate jerks sell out the middle america, and send the jobs overseas.
