yesterday I Found A Post About How Al Qaeda Is Blowing Things Up In Iraq And Is Willing To Sacrifice Its Realtionship With The Iraqi People If It Means The Creation Of More Unrest Over The War Here In The U.s. Watching The C0ngress And The Caving Of The Republicans, I Hate To Admit It, But The Terrorists Seem To Be Winning. If This Continues, This War And The Overall War On Iraq Is Lost; And, Summarily, So Is Our Investment.

you get a very slanted view of Iraq from USA media and overseas as well (BBC comes to mind) and Al Qaeda is winning nothing but enemies in Iraq at this point. Neither in Iraq nor Afganistan can they hold territory long, or at all, in most parts of both countries. the best they can muster is a sniper war to wear us down. so when they see nothing about Iraq but bombings on tv in America they take heart that their strategy is working and are emboldened. when they see emasculated politicans trying to pull the plug prematurely they are filled with glee. i never thought premature withdrawel would become so poplular :) . if we do withdraw en masse it will take a hundred years to clean up the mess left behind. if you think its bad now, you ain't seen nothing yet if we pull out.

Certainly it is still a difficult time in Iraq, but much progress is being made.As far as your statement about our investment highly doubtful.
If you believe this why are you here?

Al-Qaeda has already ruined and severed their relationship with the Iraqis. The fact that Iraqis are turning against Al-Qaeda is a positive sign.
The Iraqi militias and clans are fierce. If they want to, they can drive Al-Qaeda out of Iraq without our help.
AL-Qaeda is actually making more enemies than friends. Look at what they are doing to Hamas. Hamas (as messed up as they are) is being toyed with by Al-Qaeda, forcing Hamas to distance themselves from them. An ally of Al-Qaeda is an enemy of the US.
Al-Qaeda has lost support because they have been exposed for what they are: Foreigners occupying sovereign nations and attempting to destabilize and terrorize the local populus.

BAGHDAD (AP) - Security forces in Baghdad have full control in only 40 percent of the city five months into the pacification campaign, a top American general said Saturday as U.S. troops began an offensive against two al-Qaida strongholds on the capital's southern outskirts.

Strawman! Liberals have such weak arguments, they have to pretend that Iraq is somehow related to 9/11. Wrong. Iraq is about the 1991 gulf war resolution not being upheld, and UN weapons inspectors being denied, and a madman using his billions of dollars to bribe the UN, corrupt the oil for food, and paying suicide bombers $25,000 per attack on Israel.
Now, about your nutty theories about the terrorists. Popular Mechanics and a team of over 70 professional engineers / scientists have conveniently debunked all the loony left 9/11 theories.

Hey Itchibon,
Appreciate the moral support. However, I've found liberalism is a lot like terrorism. If it goes unchallenged, it festers. So, its important to crush (these crazy ideas) immediately.
Your the one with crazy ideas....If your theories are valid you should be able to answer some questions then. Right?
1) Where are the official passenger list with the highjackers (i.e. terrorist) listed?
2) What are the odds that the US government and military were running about 8 wars games on the morning of 911 that involved highjacking of airliners and flying them into buildings?
3) What security company was in charge of security over for the World Trade Center, United Airlines, and Dulles International Airport and with their contract ending on 9/11/01?
4) How is it that there was inside trading BEFORE and DURING 911?
- Between September 6 and 7, the Chicago Board Options Exchange saw purchases of 4,744 put options on United Airlines, but only 396 call options. Assuming that 4,000 of the options were bought by people with advance knowledge of the imminent attacks, these "insiders" would have profited by almost $5 million.
- On September 10, 4,516 put options on American Airlines were bought on the Chicago exchange, compared to only 748 calls. Again, there was no news at that point to justify this imbalance; Again, assuming that 4,000 of these options trades represent "insiders", they would represent a gain of about $4 million.
- [The levels of put options purchased above were more than six times higher than normal.]
- No similar trading in other airlines occurred on the Chicago exchange in the days immediately preceding Black Tuesday.
- Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co., which occupied 22 floors of the World Trade Center, saw 2,157 of its October $45 put options bought in the three trading days before Black Tuesday; this compares to an average of 27 contracts per day before September 6. Morgan Stanley's share price fell from $48.90 to $42.50 in the aftermath of the attacks. Assuming that 2,000 of these options contracts were bought based upon knowledge of the approaching attacks, their purchasers could have profited by at least $1.2 million.
- Merrill Lynch & Co., which occupied 22 floors of the World Trade Center, saw 12,215 October $45 put options bought in the four trading days before the attacks; the previous average volume in those shares had been 252 contracts per day [a 1200% increase!]. When trading resumed, Merrill's shares fell from $46.88 to $41.50; assuming that 11,000 option contracts were bought by "insiders", their profit would have been about $5.5 million.
- European regulators are examining trades in Germany's Munich Re, Switzerland's Swiss Re, and AXA of France, all major reinsurers with exposure to the Black Tuesday disaster. [FTW Note: AXA also owns more than 25% of American Airlines stock making the attacks a "double whammy" for them.]
On September 29, 2001 - in a vital story that has gone unnoticed by the major media - the San Francisco Chronicle reported, "Investors have yet to collect more than $2.5 million in profits they made trading options in the stock of United Airlines before the Sept. 11, terrorist attacks, according to a source familiar with the trades and market data".

Because its just CONJECTURE.... Idiot!
These are NOT conjectures.
1) Show me a passenger list with the terrorist names then. It shouldnt be that hard if as you say what I posted is conjecture.
2) What are the odds? You can do some math there. But why was our government and military running war games with the same scenarios of what actually happened? And dont give me this conjecture BS because these are FACTS presented by main stream press with verifiable references.
3) So how could someone have put options on trades prior to 911 on United Airlines and American without having some sort of prior knowledge? And why hasnt this information been released to the American public????

You really need to keep up on what your Republican buddies are saying. Because it was YOUR Republican leaders that said Iraq had a role in 911. But they have not presented any evidence. Debunked! And then they said there were weapons of mass destruction. And they have not presented any evidence. Debunked!... your side is not batting very well. Their losing the ball game....

U.S. Diplomat Predicts Curb in Violence in Iraq by Fall ..
Wednesday, June 27, 2007
BAGHDAD —
America's No. 2 diplomat in Iraq predicted progress by fall on bringing together Iraq's feuding factions as violence claimed more lives Wednesday, including 14 people killed in a late night car bombing near a Shiite shrine in the north of the capital.
In all, at least 60 Iraqis were killed or found dead Wednesday across the country, most of them in the Baghdad area, according to police reports.
U.S. officials have been pressing the Iraqis to enact a series of laws designed to bring together the country's warring factions, curb the violence and arrest the slide in support for the U.S. mission among the American people and Congress.
During a press conference Wednesday, the second-ranking U.S. diplomat in Iraq said he was hopeful that the Iraqis would make progress on "some" legislation by September.
That's when Gen. David Petraeus and U.S. Ambassador Ryan Crocker are to submit a report on prospects for ending the violence.
The report is expected to mark a watershed in the troubled American effort to build a stable democracy in Iraq in the wake of the 2003 U.S.-led invasion that toppled Saddam Hussein.
"We're in a very significant period of political turmoil... But we do expect Iraqis to work through these issues," U.S. diplomat Daniel Speckhard told reporters. "My expectations are still that they'll rise to the challenge of producing some key legislation by September."
Speckhard said much work had already been done in Iraq's parliament on a U.S.-backed law that would regulate the oil industry and distribute revenues among all the country's ethnic and sectarian groups.
Other "benchmark" bills would amend the constitution, allow many former members of Saddam Hussein's Baath party to get back government jobs and arrange new elections for provincial posts.
