Iraq's parliament announced plans to work six-day weeks rather than three-day weeks until the end of the month, when their recess begins, said SheikHameed Al-m'alla, a Shiite legislator. It could be a sign that parliament is close to passing a much-anticipated oil law, among the chief benchmarks Washington is demanding before September.

Well at least there APPEARING to be working .........

It could also mean more than just the HCL. Perhaps solving their economic crisis before they go into recess.

Now call me nuts here but, dang.....

Ya think if they had decided to GET OFF THEIR LEFT AND RIGHT SEAT CUSSIONS ... they MIGHT not be in the HURRY UP mode?! I mean, maybe its just me but damn, they could have had things done and taken their break at the begining of July and be sitting somewhere safe and loving it.

Hell, they could be in the U.S. watching transformers at the Sony Matrion then go to the Power Exchange and relieve a little stress! Only in S.F.

But NoooOOOOoooo, they HAD to drag this out. Now everything will get done but if they do not hurry up its a day late and a dollar short. Get the Dinar up to 2.45 USD with no lop and I will forgive your transgressions.

Who's with me?!?!

6 days? I weep for them. How about every time they take a day off, the troops take a day off. ya I know it's probably been mentioned.

You have to be kidding me. We have 160,000 troops on the ground and billions if not trillions of US tax paying dollars going into this conflict, U.S. Troops being blowned to pieces and they take three day work weeks? What is wrong with them?

The worst thing about it is when they deliberate only a couple dozen even show up. I guess they would rather be under the rule of another Saddam. If they think Maliki is doing a bad job think of how Iraq would be if Al Sadr was their Prime Minister.

I understand what everybody is thinking, but I kinda think that if they are working 6 days a week to pass the laws, maybe, just maybe they need to get the laws done before the isx opens. (I hope). I still to this date do not understand the whole money worth nothing and isx opening thing. Hey stock market people, wouldnt that hurt the stocks and the companies even more to get it worth something and then everybody cashing out at one time. Just a thought......

WHAT?!?! THEYVE ONLY BEEN WORKING 3 DAYS A WEEK! theyre a joke! pathetic!!!!

I'm sure the idea is that they study the bills, laws, issues, etc. during the off away from parliament, then convene, argue, and vote three days a week. It's been way too slow, I agree. I'm betting now they're saying that by now everyone had better already know the material and get the votes done! I doubt that they have only been expected to "work" three days a week. Tho that may be all that some of them have done!

Laughing, well if you listen to our press, our Congress only works three days, the otheres are shopping aka Pelosi, play golf, or hobknob with the lobbyist. AJOB you hit the nail on the head, our soldiers are on duty 24-7, what if we said no meet no security. Oh I forgot some: LYING and arranging EARMARKS, even though Speaker Pelosi wishes to never call that again.
