WASHINGTON - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice exhorted congressional critics of Iraq war policy Friday to give the Bush administration and the fledgling government in Baghdad until September to "make a coherent judgment of where we are."

NOW, I REALIZE THAT SEPTEMBER IS THE TIME FOR THE NEXT REPORT ON IRAQI PROGRESS, BUT I THINK IT IS INTERESTING THAT THE ADMINISTRATION IS REPEATEDLY HARPING ON THIS SEPTEMBER THING. WHY NOT OCTOBER OR DECEMBER? COULD IT BE THAT THEY KNOW SOMETHING ECONOMICALLY GOOD FOR THE IRAQI PEOPLE IS COMING BEFORE SEPTEMBER AND, IN ACCORDANCE WITH BUSH'S STATEMENT THAT ECONOMIC STABILITY WILL BRING ABOUT POLITICAL STABILITY, THEY WANT TO ALLOW A MONTH OF THE IRAQI PEOPLE LIVING IN PROSPERITY RATHER THAN ABJECT POVERTY TO SEE WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT WILL MAKE IN THE WAR? COULD THESE CALLS FOR WAIT UNTIL SEPTEMBER BE OUR CLUE THAT A R/V IS EMMINENT BEFORE AUGUST?
