After several delays, Iraqi Sunni political parties have nominated a candidate for the speakership of the country's National Assembly.

Dinaress,

Ana i sure hope al jazeera was accurate in their reporting.
From what the article said, the government will risk losing its legitimacy if they don't start doing what they are supposed to. The Sunnis have realized they need to have a voice in the government. Very graciously, they are being handed the opportunity to be part of the new government, and they know it!

But will they take the opportunity is the question. I think they feel threatened now about losing the power they had. Absolute power is hard to give up. So you might have some pockets fighting still....As things look right now, most Sunnis see that they have to get involved.

I just read an article dated March 31. It said that the they better get their act together quickly or the bus is going to crash and burn. The sunni and es may start exchanging gun fire. They actually used the word "civil war". Im getting worried, I have a sick feeling in my stomach.

Spank the Sunnis. They would not last in a wedge of Kurds and Shiites.

Wait a minute. I have heard that the Iraqis (population) don't really buy into it that far. They have more sense than that.
