Trade fair promotes momentum for reconstruction in Iraq - 4/11/2005

AMMAN, 11 April (IRIN) - A four-day international trade fair for business and reconstruction in Iraq ended in the Jordanian capital Amman, on Thursday.
The event, the second of its kind, was held to attract companies to work in the field of reconstruction. The first fair was held in Kuwait in January 2004 and attracted more than 1,400 exhibitors targeting key Iraqi economic sectors.

This year, 980 companies from 44 countries exhibited equipment and materials used for reconstruction at the fair.

Foreign firms optimistic about business in Iraq, reports the Chinese news agency 5/4/2005

BEIJING, April 5 (www.chinaview.cn) -- Global firms eyeing reconstruction deals in Iraq say they foresee an improved outlook for business in 2005.
Business people representing over 950 foreign firms attend the Iraq Rebuild 2005 exhibition in the Jordanian capital Amman. It was clear that the number of opportunities in Iraq is growing as government ministries and US contractors’ tender contracts.
