It's been a while since I've checked the prices and been on this forum. Hope everybody is doing well. Anyway I went to Usatoday to check out the exchange rate for NID and noticed it broke the 1450 mark. Is the Dinar getting better? Or am I just smoking too much?

The USD took a dive today, so I suspect that is the cause.

Yup, you're smoking too much... so pass it around! :)

The rates did a little dipply-do about 10 days ago (it went as far as 1,480 IQD/USD), which was officially addressed, I believe, as a counter-reaction to a falsely-perceived shortage of foreign reserves (meaning USD), but it did illustrate the joint (no pun intended) nature of the IQD value and activity on the ISX.

I think it was almost an experiment to see how it would affect the ISX, or at least it was interesting to see.

If you look at some of the other exchange sites, they change from time to time, and have been significantly better than what you saw... just keep in mind to notice if you are looking at a median price, buy, or sell, because they can all be different on a given day. As far as I know, though, none of those are reporting actual transacted rates.

Chris :)
