WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Israel has relayed its concern to the United States of the rising prospect of a Middle East war in 2006.
U.S. officials said Israel has determined that the expected U.S. withdrawal from Iraq in 2006 would raise tensions in the region that could lead to a Middle East war. The officials said the Israeli assessment asserted that Iran would either lead or play a major role in any future war against the Jewish state.
"It is the biggest nightmare of [Prime Minister] Ariel Sharon," a U.S. official said. "He has relayed repeated messages to the administration that Iran and its Arab allies were preparing for war."

Looks like the U.S. is already making preparations for this.... ;)
UPI reported in January that the U.S. is already daring Iran to defend herself by flying military aircraft over the country, officially, “to lure Tehran into turning on air defense systems … to grid the system for future targeting data” for the coming strikes...........
Since the televised destruction of September 11, 2001, U.S. armed forces have occupied Iran’s neighbors to the east and west, Afghanistan and Iraq, providing good positions for attack. The U.S. can also launch aerial bombardments and missile assaults from aircraft carriers in the Persian Gulf......
The U.S. military has bases as well in another neighbor of Iran, nuclear-armed ally Pakistan. According to exclusive information from an Asia Times story (January 19, 2005), the Musharraf dictatorship is cooperating with the U.S. to make Pakistan itself a staging area for the assault on Iran..........
The U.S. military also has a substantial “secret” military presence in Israel, according to the new book “Code Names” by journalist and former U.S. intelligence official William Arkin...........

We are going to pull out in 2006 LOL... We will have a base somewhere in southern Iraq that will remain there for 30 years.. Just like japan, germany and korea.. Israel doesnt need to worry about us going anywhere.

I agree about us being around long term. I don't think Israel needs us to hold their hand. They are quite capable of handling Iran(IMHO). :rolleye03

There's no way Isreal, or the good'ol U.S.A could lose a war with Iran. I'm just worried that it might slow down the rebuiding effert in Iraq, thus our investment might be affected in a bad way?
