A group that builds and adapts homes for handicapped accessibility for America's most severely wounded veterans is reaching out to Massachusetts residents for help providing a home for a local veteran who lost his legs in Iraq.
The Homes For Our Troops organization is building a home for Sgt. Brian Fontaine, 24, a Dorchester tank commander who lost both lower legs when a terrorist explosive device planted in the road went off under the Humvee he was in on June 8, 2006.
Fontaine's will be the second home built in the commonwealth. The group is based in Taunton, Mass.
