Eventually, In the long run Great Britain will end up using the euro.
Hong Kong will eventually end up using the yuan. Better off sticking with the yuan as an investment in that region. Here's a link:

I don't think I agree with this assessment
America and Europe could break down to pure chaos
HK while being severly hurt still could come out as a major nwo trade port
Canada may even take some territory
Will Alaska be an independent nation or taken over my Canada/Russia
What about Hawii
... way to many variables to isolate the dominate nations/currency

Maybe China can come along and say to HK since you are "severly hurt", we
will "heal your wounds" under one condition. Switch to the yuan.
