Dear Warka Investors,
I would like bring to your kind attention that 25 and 100 Dinar coins will be removed from circulation on the 31st of January 2008.
Best regards,
Mr. I

Thanks for the confirmation Mr I.
Do you know, or are you allowed to say what the coins will be replaced with? Will there be a 25 Dinar note? Thanks for your time.

The coins will be replaced with the current denominations. No plan to print any new notes!

So 2 x 25Dinar coin will be exchanged for 1 x 50 Dinar note. I believe some, including myself, were hoping there would be some new smaller denominations.
Thanks for keeping us informed Mr I. :clapping:
It's quiet on here today. Not many people posting.

I wonder if the 5 missing/unaccounted for denominations....from the original "14 Denominations of Currency and Coin" that were printed in 2003 would be concidered..."current denominations"???:tmi: They wouldn't have to print any..."NEW" notes!!! They would just have to use the ones they already have sitting in their vault at the CBI!!!:lipssealed:
We have to remember......
It's no longer just...BLACK & WHITE!.....RIGHT & WRONG!...TRUTH or LIE!
There's ........"POLITICALLY CORRECT!!!":giggle:

This question was asked in another thread but what is a guy comes in and wants to exchange his 25 dinar coin, what are they going to give him for it? They would have to tell him the coin is worth nothing, if there is nothing to exchange it for. Would they open him a bank account with 25 dinars in it? Seems this exchange will be a money maker for the CBI, because many people will just not bother then come Feb. 1 the coins are worthless.

It also says in another thread that any amount under 5000 Dinar will have to be deposited into a bank account rather than an actual physical exchange.
"We propose in the light of cancellation by the State to be issued (coins) metal groups of not less than five thousand dinars, or over are subject to the deposit of the bank, both of which savings or current accounts .. .. Or are considered to be of value to him balance the benefits granted by the bank and set them a special mechanism which helps to savings with the bank .. "

Actually.....reading this again, it says 5000 Dinars or more would have to be put into a bank account? Not sure what they'll do if someone only has one 25Dinar coin?

Someone I know asked me a question today that I didn't know the answer of.
"Are we able to send the coins to our bank in Iraq? Especially since banks in the U.S. won't take them."
so are we?

Of course we can send our coins to Wark and have them deposited! Just like any other Dinar! AS LONG AS...you get'em there before Jan. 31st.!!!:giggle:
The BIG question is.......WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU WANT TO SEND YOUR COINS TO WARKA?!?!?!?!? :surprised:
A 25 IQD coin if cashed in at Warka would get you about 2 cents! That's before any exchange fees etc.! Now! If you're like most people.....you paid 25 cents or MORE each for those coins!? So!...You pay 25 cents for it...you sell it for 2 cents? Not a real good PROFIT Margin!!!:tmi:
Unless you literally have a TON of these couns layin' around.....and got'em dirt cheap! Worth more as a collectors item!
If the guy wants to sell'em back to Warka.....I'll buy them from him and save him all the fees! And I'll even pay shipping!!!:call:

2M IQD in 100 IQD coins weighs 190 pounds.
2M IQD in 25 IQD coins weighs 353 pounds.
A mix of 25 and 100 IQD coins weighs between 190 pounds and 353 pounds.
I really, really want to hear how you acquired the coins and the shipping costs.
How are you storing them?

Not all 2 mil+ are mine, I keep my coins in a paint bucket, not sure where my bud keeps theirs. We acquired them from some family in Iraq (short version). Shipping wasn't a factor in bringing back to America.

Sometimes the main reason I read these posts is for the humor. This is a good example. The thought of telling someone, who seems to disagree with you, to do the legwork to prove YOUR side of a disagreement is laughable. Hey I know, he can use your logic. He said there is only one article, why don't you do the legwork to prove his statement?:yelrotflmao:
If there are "numerous" articles stating that there were 14 denominations, you would think that it wouldn't be asking too much for a couple of links... unless, of course, you were making that statement in the RUMOR section. If it's a RUMOR, no links are necessary since there probably aren't any.

Without having done any research into any of this, ie whether or not there are coins in circulation, are there smaller denoms printed etc etc. I think the point that we are missing is that over a year ago Mr I said that these coins would be removed at the end of this month. If it happens it makes Mr I a very reliable source and someone who really does have an insight into future plans for the dinar. Don't knock it.

That said there is an equal chance the other denoms were higher values in case they needed hem no? This has to be considered as a possibility.
