View Full Version : Mods. delete more posts/threads

My suggestion is to the moderators. I think more unmeaningfull post/threads should be deleted. It seems like there is too much chit-chat and useless posts on this forum. The rumors board is a good example of this. Probably 80% of the posts on that board are meaningless. It would stop arguements that get ugly and jokes that don't belong there. Is anyone else thinking this?

I started a thread a looong time ago for all that stuff.
Would make it a lot easier here if they took that stuff to:
OFF the WALL junk -NO RULES thread

I think this is a good forum and the mods do a very good job.
If we, as members here, need babysitters, I don't think it's the format of the forum or the mods that are at fault.
It's the members not keeping themselves in check.
Some business, some fun, no personal attacks.
Works for me.

I with you on that Bluelake.

One can read the 1st few words of a post and skip over it if uninterested.

I agree. Mods, please delete this thread.

jk NYSackE

I dont think they would delete it, however they might lock it down so no posts can be put on it.

This thread is a perfect example. The lounge is for chit chat. We need to stay on subject. I could use my ignore button-but someone might decide to post something important.

Too much funny business.

Yeah why can't we follow with factual information within a thread dated for that date..Like Jerry does--no matter what the content--
that way i can bypass the funny business.
I AM a BUSY woman!
thanks yall

No offense to anyone but most of us learned how to quickly and easily skip over stuff we were not interested in during our 1st week online.

No kidding. The threads would be impossible to read otherwise. But doesn't it get old to be reading about "whatever" and it follows up with beer drinking or fast car stories? I say, do away with the lounge. The whole forum is a lounge.

I know by now the internet isnt going to change, or the people on the internet. So I go with it.

There must be 100s of lurkers here with valuable input that are too afraid to post out of fear someone will disapprove, or that it will not be considered earth moving enough. Or that it is an unpardonable sin to bust a joke or drift off topic sometimes.

In my opinion ideally this forum would not only discuss important dinar information but also place the value of friendliness and hospitality to members new and old above the relatively minor problem of post spam.

And from what ive seen the threads that really are serious tend to stay on topic for the most part. But if they dont...no big deal...simply scroll by to the interesting stuff.

Other people may see it differently and thats fine.
We each have our own way of being online.

I do see your point. It is better to have a friendly environment. Jokes do help sometimes too. I just don't want anyone that may be lurking to avoid posting due to the riff-raff, you know-may not be inclined to post something noteworthy.

But have yall figured out what the problem is with this avatar?

If doesnt seem right when I make a serious post to have him over there chuckling about it.. :o

He adds no credibility then.

But his laugh is contagious to me, always was.

When we get a peg, Im going to try to buy Dinaress's avatar from her.

Surely this BBQ will be in Texas where its made just right..

There I am going to snipe your avatar in the closing seconds for 1.35, because everyone else is drunk and showing each other their new stuff.

Or will there be a reserve price? :drunk:

Ranid,

Ive yet to eat bad BBQ.

Well except the time my brother and I were fishing and bought from a sloppy looking roadside stand far from the city. There arent many options out there.

The sandwich was mostly globs of fat that even dripped down our arms. lol
It was disgusting even though we were starving. Neither of us finished it.
The guy charged us $5 per sandwich too!

3rd aint bad for Texas...luckily the judges didnt test this roadside guy.

Like most people Ive told my brother is afraid of the Dinar..

Ranid,

Dont mistake my not understanding your Charles Manson avatar
for not appreciating your posts. I do.

Dinaress,

Thanks for that compliment. (havent heard that in a while!) :happy64:
But Ive already been snatched twice. The 1st one kept running off
so I finally divorced her then went on to live on Ramen and beer for 2 years while contemplating suicide and thinking all women are evil.. :crying:

Well by the 3rd year I stopped cruising in my car to nowhere while listening to music that reminded me of her and crying which greatly reduced my baggage and my ability to attract potential new mates. :happy26:

So now My 2nd and current wife of 13 years, mother of my 2 daughters might agree with you for this one day...being as I gave her some Dichroic glass rainbow colored earrings I won off Ebay this morning. (bribery works wonders)

Sogrgril,

You are right..his name WAS Muttley! Thanks. I can still hear him snickering from childhood. heheheheheheheheheheheheheheheh

This is not meant to be a highjack .. and it's not meant to be crude and unladylike. I am merely observing and saying what has come to my mind ...

It seems to me that some people change their avatars like they change clothing (I was going to say underwear, but decided against it ... hence the unladylike warning :drunk: )
