IRFI underlines need to help Iraq overcome crisis

DEAD SEA -- Badran said that "this underlines the need to extend a helping hand to build a unified Iraq that is able to achieve prosperity to its people." The prime minister affirmed that contribution to the reconstruction process in Iraq is a Jordanian priority to which we provide all facilities, services and expertise that would contribute to achieving security and stability in Iraq, its people, the region and the world. "Jordan has worked and is still working to develop mechanisms of strategic cooperation with Iraq to achieve sustainable development for the interest of both peoples," he added. Badran expressed hope that the participants' commitments would result in an action plan that would be implemented for the interest of the Iraqi people and peoples of the region.

What is so important about the Jordan meeting? I have been reading up on the Marshall Plan that was introduced in June 5, 1947 , the plan similar that Bush's Administrator's plans on doing for Iraq. This plan took 9 months for it was implemented. I personally don't think we will see a peg until this plan is put into action. I just don't see the Dinar being introduced this year. I am ready for comments, anyone

The more I looked into the Marshall Plan, the more it seemed feasable.
Then I came accross an article by PM Ibrahim al-Jaafari himself written June 27 2005.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/printF...492-355,00.html

Speaking of the Marshall Plan
"In the long run, however, it can secure centuries of peace and prosperity. Iraq’s fight against terrorist networks and training camps, and the poverty and ignorance that supply them, has become the world’s fight for the security of humanity." end.

Ibrahim al-Jaafari is one of the key leaders of Iraq, and most outspoken. I can only presume this is a very probable event. As to how long it could take? With todays resources and technology. You tell me.

....BIG WAVE

Ross didn't you ask that question on another link?
