Reputation and points?

Under my control panel, it says
"latest reputation received" (i thought i got rid of that when i graduated HS??)
and i have 34 pts.
can someone enlighten me?

When someone finds a particular post valuable they can click on the icon of the scales in the upper right of the post to give the author recognition. You most likely earned points when you posted the 8/18 info...
