Today, I was listening to a local radio real estate show. The guy that hosts the show is also into some other things. These other things took him to Iraq last week or so. Anyways, he said while there he looked into some real estate for sale. As an example he said there was a 300 unit apartment building for sale in the red zone in Baghdad for $100,000 US Dollars. He said it was fully occupied and the rent was $300 a month. However, only about 2-3 % of the occupents were paying rent, as the others currently couldn't afford to. I thought this was very interesting.
So my question is what are the laws/regulations for US citizens to own Iraqi property?
Thanks,
