View Full Version : Is anyone else carrying an ID bill in their wallet?

With all of the volitility, risk, and unpredictability around the ID, I'm considering slipping one folded-up 25K dinar note into my wallet 'just in case'.
Then, if some opportunity comes up quickly, (and looks like it might go away just as quickly), I might be able to jump on it.
Am I just crazy, or is anyone else out there doing this too?

I carry a couple to show people, but I don't carry it to run to the bank the day it opens.

I carry around a 25,000 bill just for kicks. I don't show it to anyone or anything though, I figure the fewer people that know what I have the better. Its kind of funny though when something comes on the TV about Iraq and I tell everyone to shut up.

One? Ha... I have a million in my car right now!!! THe rest is hidden at home safely! If I find out anytime in the future that it is where I want it... I am driving straight to the closest bank that will exchange it! I have internet on my phone, so I am ready whenever!!!
p.s. and no... I won't tell any of you what I drive or where my car is!!

My wife and I just purchased a safe to keep our millions in. Hopefully someday, it will be millions of dollars instead of dinars. :happy26:

Dude don't do it! It's like carrying a condom in your wallet. :lmao: It has a jinx effect and never pans out. Keep the dinars under the mattress or hidden in a book.

Chicago,
If i'm not mistaken, its going to take a while for us to be able to convert it here in the US.
Someone said 45? days? I'm not sure what the exact time frame is, BUT if it opens high and rapidly drops low, we're all kinda SOL. There wont be anywhere in the states to trade it.
My only security right now is that my husband is in Iraq with more over there than i have here. Hopefully he will be able to do a quick change in Kuwait and then be on his way home.

Jen-your husband will have a problem cashing in his dinars in Kuwait thru military finance. (It's one of the things he has to clear off his checklist when he leaves country.) However, the military finance unit here at Tallil will not convert the Iraqi dinar at this time to american dollars. It's unknown when they or if they ever will. He'll have to go thru his local source. He'll lose money in Kuwait if he exchanges it now.

Sgt Remf,
Hes a civilian contractor over there. I'm not sure how that would affect him cashing it in?? But he wouldnt have access to military finance. He is retired USN tho.
I think he said the next time he heads down south hes going to get info on opening an account in Kuwait.

I just have my dinars in a fire box next to my dogs bed. He's the best gaurd dog in the world, we never can have company lol. The fires last year in SanDiego got to close to the house. Not taking any chances.

Hey, i'm in san diego too. When and if the dinar gains value lets celebrate in
Baja!! hehe.
I hated the fires too...almost got caught in it when it jumped the freeway by
the marine air station. I guess God was looking out for me so i could have
the chance to buy some dinars. And live happily ever after.
