Is one of the best websites ever.
I have no trouble with the speed of the website, and my PC is older than christmas dinner.

Actually right now I am optimizing the db tables to maybe it wasn't a good time to ask the question. :)

And now it seems like the site is loading more rapidly. Anyone second that?

The problem has been intermittent.
Seems to be working fine today.

Wire or not it loads up quick for me. Could be the path that some have may be causing problems.

In an occasional rare instance I have trouble connecting for 5 to 10 minutes but it clears itself. I assume its the connection at work or at home. Its not just IIF affected and its not consistant. Otherwise, the only thing that takes time to load are all the pictures on some threads.

For me it's still somewhat slower than usual. Seem to start about a week ago. There for a few days, it was a lot worse than it is now. I have cable, and use to almost instant loading. Not something I can't live with though.

There have only been two times that I have had trouble. Didn't last more than several minutes each time. Actually, it got me really excited both times because I thought the site had crashed because it had finally pegged!

Other than that, it is lightening fast! :happy64:

There have been times when I thought the site was about to go down. It seems fine as I type this.
I started noticing it about a week ago also.

THANKS for checking it out Dan!

One caveat to my "no" vote: I'm on broadband (yeah right) over satellite. Therefore, I have to deal with significant latency issues. It typically takes 1-3 seconds for any website, save Google, to start loading.

I have the same set-up as Botso (broadband via satellite). I have no complaints. :happy26:

All the best,

I've got dsl and I keep my connection clean, it was only this site that was slow-other sites were still quick. Maybe it was a traffic jam?

It seems to have cleared up about a day ago, but was very slow, especially loading graphics, for quite a few days before that. Much better today.

Yes, very good today!

Important to have a solid site this week.(IMHO)

Thanks again for looking into it Dan!

I sit just me, or has the forum just kicked into low gear. It's loading unusually slow all of a sudden.

PM's are not loading right......can,t use....locks up..
Yea, done that with me too trying to check PM's. But everything is running very slow. Seem to happen all of a sudden. Run fine for about 15 to 20 mln. and then...well, I guess danpeg could be doing some fine tuning or maybe another small glitch???
Just glad it wasn't my puter fixin to crash!

That may be the software upgrade I did two days ago. I will check with vbulletin.

I think most of the slow downloading must be on my end. I checked some other websites and they were slow also. This one seems to be working better now. Others are still slow. Thanks though!

I don't know what has been happening with the forum...but not only is it slow...but the PM section is almost impossible for me to reply back to someone. When I attempt to submit my PM it just sits there. I can take as long as 3 minutes before I finally get the box that asks if I want a confirmation from the person I am sending it to. A couple of days ago....I couldn't get any PM replies out at all....it kept locking up my browser on 3 different computers. I finally got some of my replies done....but spent 2-3 hours on it at my shop on that computer. Was still very....very slow there as well.

Still having problems in the PM area.....something is most definitely not right....wither with the server....or something.

...but the biggest problem for the past two days, is getting frozen periodically when trying to reply to any post or pm...today included...

I have another browser window open that is still attempting to "submit my reply" and it has been sitting there for 10 minutes now!!! This is really getting exhausting attempting to answer all my PMs. And when it locks up the browser....it is because it has consumed all the system resources. I just had to end that task....and that took me about 10 attempts to do that as well. Now I have to retype my reply all over again!!!

BTW.....I did not reboot my computer after that failed attempt to send my PM. I am working in another browser window.....for this reply. But when I came back to this message after successfully getting that other window to shut down....I had about 6 of these [CODE] [CODE} that showed up at the beginning of this message I had started typing while waiting for something to happen in that other window.

DAN!!!! HELP!!!!

Same issues as you, Gwen. I was unable to respond to any pm's without everything locking up. I waited up to 10 minutes, nothing. Had to reboot manually. This happened A LOT yesterday. I finally gave up. Any pm's I received, I would just create a new pm to respond. Annoying.

To all who have sent me PMs the past couple of days.....I am trying diligently to respond to them....and can't get this darn system to work!!! Please know I am not ingnoring you.....I am exhausted retyping my messages over and over again....only to have the system freeze up and the PM not go through.

Posting in the forums is not problem...however they seem to be lagging some as well....but at least not locking up completely.....like in the PM section.

Here, here. I'm not ignoring "ya'll". I have about 7 people waiting for pm's from me. I'm a fast typist, but this is getting old ... typing and re-typing. I'll get with ya asap.

Hey, at least this place hasn't crashed. That would be a big, ugly issue. :p

Is there some reason why I never have any problem with this forum.

As of late, anything I post or PM, which is not much, I copy it just in case. Had to retype one, and wasn't very happy.
But I'm sure you have already thought of that.

The forum must like you better. :D

BB, you seem to have the knowledge on so many things when I come to you with questions, maybe you have everything possible known to man on your computer to keep the bugs away. :D

Aunt Gwennie

The problem is when I try to reply to someone's PM. If I try to send my message with their original message on it....that is where the problem is coming in. I can click onto the sender's ID and select "Send a Private Message" and type away on a new PM and hit "submit" and it goes through!!! There has been a few seconds delay on a couple of them but they have gone through much easier. No freeze up at all.

So there has to be a glitch in the system with regards to replying to PMs. I am not having problems at all posting in threads. But I see Dan did something to the forum a couple of days ago. Whatever he did....MESSED THINGS UP!!! UNDO IT DAN!!!

I would tend to think it was my computer....but this PM problem has happened the last 2 days on 3 different computers.

Hey, it's slowwwwwww right now.
I noticed lots of people saying they are doing pm's a lot lately, could the big increase in pm's be causing it to slow down?

Problems seems to be fixed ... at least for me. Started improving about an hour ago.

Added note .. only 6 currently pming. Not a lot by any means.
