Dunno i doubt it.
Not quite so........yet......they have won many seats everywhere, and London has a NEW Mayor...Boris the great...unless brown quits i think we still have him for another 2 years or so, and because he has done so much damage over the past years, he can now UUUUturn again, undo a lot and now say "I am listening folks" and the stupid Brits among us will say "Ah..he's a good ole boy really".
Dont count the chickens before they are hatched......oh doom and gloom....were's the rope....gimme the gun.

If there were a general election tomorrow the Conservatives would be in power. But again, all I can say is Conservatism in the UK is NOT the same as it is in the US, nowhere near as extreme and rigid. Do not be under the misguided impression that this somehow benefits American Republicanism because it is not the same beast. Fiscal policy probably mirrors the most.
But Labour still has a lot of supporters and Conservative Councils still have to implement government policy, passed down from the Labour government. In implementing any bad policy, it may have a negative effect on a Conservative Council, which is unfair since they would be basically doing what thy are told to do at local government level. It's a funny sitch. But...Gordon Brown isn't going to go without a fight. I don't dislike him personally but he cannot lead. He is as useful as a chocolate teapot. He might mean well in the 'longterm' as he likes to quote but he's stripping the poorest of the money they need right now to get by.
I am actually glad I diversified into the IQD and feel at least there is some fun left in the future investment-wise, no matter what happens. Because outside of that it's just tax, tax, tax and price hikes under this lot, double-dealings, corruption (yes, corruption) and mismanagement.

Not yet, but the way they have spent and added entitlements (i.e. prescription drugs) over the last eight years it's getting hard to tell the difference. :no2:

I think there is a genuine need for change in our government felt by the people of our country.
The working class man (who used to be Labours core vote) or woman (being PC) has seen the cost of living rocket under the labour government. Petrol is at an all time high about $9.04 on average a gallon. Our car tax has gone to about $300 per year on average. Council tax is about $2000+ per year depending on your house. We now have our bins emptied once a fortnight instead of weekly (but pay more for the privilege) Fuel bills have risen by 25% or more. My Gas bill is about $140 per month electric the same water $100 per month and food bill is about $400 per month and thats before we start on everything else we need!
We pay more now in tax than ever before and for that we have poorer schools poorer health service poorer policing and MP's who milk us for every penny they spend with golden pensions I could only dream about and no one to take them to account!
Add into the mix that the cops would rather persecute law abiding citizens than criminals and immigrants get more benefits than UK citizens. I am thinking about leaving the country and returning as an immigrant. I get $4000 to buy a car, which they tax and insure for me plus about $140 per week to spend. A fully furnished house with colour tv. $100 per week to spend I dont have to have been born here or have paid any tax. I dont need a job and I can have free schooling for my kids and free health care if I have TB HIV or anyother serious illness.
We are not allowed to speak our mind for fear of being labelled racist. If a billboard showing a girl in a bikini is put up in a muslim area we have to take it down!
Flying our English flag is seen as a racist thing to do and we have no public holiday for our patron St unlike the Irish Scots and Welsh.
So yes I could say the tide is probably turning phew lol! Glad I got that off my chest!
I am sick to death of this country and so is the rest of my countrymen.

Good point - in fact I'd go as far to say the American Democrat party is more right wing than our so called conservatives lol.

with the liberal take over in our senate, there will be little difference in taxes here compared to the uk. and spanish is easier to learn than arabic,[writing any way]. or you can just say:speak english. so far we can still defend our self if need be. have to watch out for that liberal org. civil liberty union though. other than gangstas, dopers and criminals with more rites than honest citizens things are ok. dont move to any large city here especially if you have children. we can still fly our flag, and if you want to fly yours under it we acknowledge that priveladge. oh tax on the dinar looks like a flat 35% fed, plus state county and city. and we do welcome citizens from our mother land with open arms. legally that is. rick
