I was thinking today - would we have had this investment opportunity if not for George Bush and his actions in liberating Iraq ?

Also, would it not be fitting for him to stay in office to continue the current strategy, as it appears to be working?

Hmmm not sure about giving him the credit. If you do that, you can give, Saddam the credit, Bin Ladin, or anybody. Cause and affect Birdman. No one person is to credit for this opportunity other then.... well I won't go down the religious road. :) But I am sure you get my drift.

I can see what you are saying, but perhaps a leader other than Bush would have not supported a war with iraq, therefor no dinar :)

Personally, i think we all need to ride this out with GW for another 4.
Did i read somewhere (or hear) that Kerry said he would have our troops out within 6 months? If so, i think we can kiss our dinar goodbye.....but on a more serious note, aside from the dinar, God help the Iraqi's if kerry gets elected and moves the troops out too soon.
As far as our investment, I think its imperative that Bush stays in office. I'm sure the whole world is watching to see the outcome of the elections and maybe they are waiting to see what happens before they commit to anything? I think the stability of Iraqs dinar and economy is directly related to our involvement at this point.

Did i read somewhere (or hear) that Kerry said he would have our troops out within 6 months? If so, i think we can kiss our dinar goodbye.See again, that is not the full story for what Kerry said. He said he plans on exhaustively re-establishing our diplomacy with other countries, and offering reconstruction contracts, etc., to have those countries send troops to replace the amounts of U.S. troops he wants to pull out.

Whether those 2 events happen remains to be seen, but that is what he said his intended plan is. Part of me actually thinks there is some serious merit to putting troops in Iraq from a country that Iraqi muslims are not pre-disposed to hate and distrust to such a great extent like they are with the U.S.

Blake,
I asked that in kind of a questioning form. I did not quote because i dont recall what i had heard/read, nor the full story. :rolleye03
I swear, i am done with the political threads.
Back to the fun stuff,
Jen

Jen,
I meant only to address the specific point, b/c so many before you here have made that claim previously as fact and it was driving me crazy. It wasn't directed only at you. Sorry for the confusion

I think you may be a little over-sensitive when it comes to people's posts. ;)

Sounds like it would take a hell of a lot longer than what we are already doing, and doing fine.

If Bush were to win re-election I would not be surprised if some other nation.... or a coalition of nations would come and try to liberate us !!!

You mean like Spain? :rolleyes:No, I mean like a collection of countries....maybe similar to the the proportioning of troops currently in Afghanistan, but with more numbers. Sorry for actually actively thinking of ways that could improve the situation and possibly decrease the uprising and protest against what they many there see as an "occupation" and interim gov't.

My mother-in-law lives in minnesota. I am going to go visit her ( and my wife and daughter, YEAH! ) in two weeks and she is voting for bush. I am going to take her a lot of pictures of what its like over here and maybe i can smack some sense into her !!

... my one request to her when I took my daughter to her to care for while my wife and I deploy was that she be taught to say " BOO!" every time she heard the words " George Bush" .... well she told me yesterday that she hasnt even tried to teach her that.... I've got a bone to pick with her !!! GRRRR

Good point Jen. Bush is our ticket to dinar day. Pulling out our troops within 6 mos would do nothing but undermine everything that we have done over there. We are there, so we might as well finish the job. Plus, if Bush stays in office he will make sure that Iraq is stable, economically and security wise..Another 4 for Bush means Dinar millionares Boat ride w/texas BBQ!! :happy64:

Found this from Mr. Franken.... my favorite minnesotan...

www.thegreatamericanshoutout.org

Here he talks about the shout out that minnesotans are to use...

"In his native Minnesota, people are to yell "Oh no ya don't!" in an exaggerated accent."
