I am not trying to get anyone's hopes up, but I came across this article. I was searching for a graph that would show the iraqi currency rate all the way back to the 90's, and found this. It has a lot about the Iraqi econmy, and if you will scan down to the middle of the page, it says that the Iraqi dinar was official set at .31 since 1982. I know this isn't the 3$ that everyone was hoping for... but it would be great news if they would reset the currency to the same rate!!!!!

$1 USD = 0.31 Dinar is the same as 1 Dinar = $3.22 -- I think.

I hope it does open up at .31 like everyone else. It would mean the world to me. Then hubby and I can cash in just a small portion and sit on the rest for a couple years. I just wish the damn thing would open. I am just going to say January for my OWN peace of mind and purchase till then.

The fix from 1982 was 1 USD/ .31 IQD or $3.21 USD/ 1 IQD. From what I have read, anything other than that is considered as being "Black Market Rates". Some of these exchange sites were using still using that conversion up until about June. I don't think it'll have any bearing on the return rate but it sure would be nice if it did!
