SULAIMANIYA, July 17 (VOI) –The Iraqi Ministry of Finance in Iraq's Kurdistan region has decided to set up a new bank in Sulaimaniya's Darbandikhan, the district's mayor said on Thursday/

"The bank will be constructed on an area of 1,800 cubic meters at a total cost of 817 million Iraqi dinars (1 U.S. dollar= 1,221 Iraqi dinars)," Hassan Shikhani told Aswat al-Iraq - Voices of Iraq - (VOI).
Unlike the district's only bank that offers modest services to local residents, the mayor said that the new bank is designed according to modern and international standards and will be constructed by a local firm within 250 days.

Darbandikhan, 60 km southeast of Sulaimaniya city, was a town before the March 11, 1970 Manifesto, which declared it a district. The first bank in the district was opened in 1992.
