Moderator Rule #1 – We can't please all the people all the time.

On one side we get flamed for "censoring", and from the other side "how can they let them post that". No matter which way we turn, we get blamed, flamed and burned.

Throughout the past few weeks of enormous volatilty, we have attempted to maintain civility on this board for the benefit of all, but we aren't perfect. I'm sure we've missed some posts and I'm sure we may have over-reacted or under-reacted to some as well. Considering we voluntarily do this for the benefit of all, I believe we deserve some slack.

One thing should be clear, WE, as Moderators (and Dan), have agreed to "deal with the problems" on this board. We rule by committee so if anyone here has a problem with one Mod, you're basically pointing the finger at all of us. Yes, we all have different personalities and our posts are truly individual, but our approach to moderating this board is unified.

We have collectively setup a counseling process for those who break forum rules. Many of you have responded positively to our reminders (and we salute you), while some have continued to "buck the system" (you are being dealt with and we will continue to deal with you). I can honestly say, that each moderator isn’t reading every single post. It’s impossible and considering the quality of some posts, not very tempting either. What we are doing is communicating the issues and we are logging them. We know who is making mistakes and who is simply causing trouble.

When I started reading the "whacked out conspiracies" about Dan and the board, I was “fit to be tied”. I felt like deleting every single post by those who came up with these unfounded and, in my mind, disrespectful posts. Then I stopped and considered the environment: this isn't the same board it was a year ago. It had grown dramatically. The "small town feel" disappeared months ago, and we are now more reflective of the "rat race of the big city".

This change has brought many people from all walks of life with varying approaches to life. Some people view everything in life through the “prism of conspiracy” and I really can’t do anything about that.

We have decided to apply the forum rules to all - not just some, as others have commented or implied - and hold everyone accountable. If we miss something, please let us know by clicking the “Report” button at the top right of the post that bothers you. If you feel that “you aren’t understood” then communicate it to us in a professional manner. We may be missing something.

Remember, this board is everybody’s board, but one thing is for sure:
We can't please all the people all the time.

We feel privileged that Dan has trusted us with this board and we have seen his “integrity and commitment” as well. The entire moderating crew has spent an enormous amount of time trying to make this place better for all. I am thankful for their efforts, especially those like RET and Aunt Gwennie who lately have spent ENTIRE days (out of their personal time) to maintain order here and not allow the “emotions of the moment” to run this place into the ground.

We Moderators owe nothing, yet we give this board our all. To blame the moderators and Dan, is just wrong.

Thank you Dan for making this board available to all of us and giving us the opportunity to share and learn about the great opportunities with the emergence of a new Iraq.

Thank you Aunt Gwennie for your courage and strength and the example by which you lead.

Thank you Bkewl for you helping establish this process and being a Warka pioneer.

Thank you Bryan for your diligence and encouragement throughout this long process – another Warka pioneer.

Thank you Chaka for the many things you do. You are tireless in helping others and this place is so much better for it.

Thank you Jared for helping found this board and for that cool Viking flag – go Vikes!

Thank you Jerry for keeping an eye out for all us and for sharing until you’re “gray” in the face. (You need some sleep Bro). And personal thanks for opening my eyes to the ISX.

Thank you Marilyn for helping create this wonderful opportunity called Warka and the ISX (if I’m missing someone, do let me know). You and RET welcomed me when I first came and it meant a lot.

Thank you RET for being a friend and a confidant to me and to many. Your presence here has always been inviting and you’ve made so many feel welcomed in a land of total strangers.

Thank you Tyred’s Tale for seeking new opportunities and exploring “where no man has gone before”.

Thank you Uno for your commitment to make this board a better place and steer her back to harbor in the midst of raging seas.

And thanks to all who contribute (both big and small) to this forum in a positive way.

We solicit your faith that we will try to the best of our ability to improve this forum each and every way.

We ask that you also do your part by reading and understanding The Forum Rules (http://www.investorsiraq.com/showthread.php?t=3) and following them to the best of your ability.

Sincerely,

A heartfelt thank you to all of you who make this possible!
I was a part of an office discussion this morning concerning the IIF......it seems (and I completely agree) that this forum is one of the most complete forums to find cutting edge information concerning Iraq and the dinar ANYWHERE. With the news hounds here.....a story isn't released too long until it finds it's way here.
We can have it all here too........conspiracy theories, Schizophrenia, open debate.......just a great place to discuss and cuss!
Once all this dinar business unfolds..........we will look fondly back on the many friends made here. Possibly the IIF celebration party will require some security though. LOL

Again, many thanks for the tireless efforts you MODs put forth to maintain THE FORUM on Iraq.

All the best to you and yours!
