Even 100,000 shares isn't much over $100 for most of the companies so if you're 'serious' about buying shares it shouldn't be a problem.

ok just to be clear on this, as it is somewhat cornfusing to the new here. If you wish to buy any stock, in any one company, you have to order no less than 100,000 shares of that company, and of course the single share prices all vary.

So for example if you wish to buy stock shares of Warka bank, with the current ISX price for Warka (9-17-08) one share is 1.4 IQD, an order of 100,000 shares will cost 140,000 IQD plus the 1% commision.

To translate that into US dollars all depends on how you wish to provide funding for that, weather it be an SafeDinar.com, E-Bay currency buy or wire transfer to Warka, but right now on average 140,000 IQD equals @ $120.00 USD, thats my best guess on that.

I believe it is a 100k dinars worth. not amount of shares. It was 50k dinar worth before. Too many cheep people want to buy 25k$ worth of bank stocks it is not worth it to sell or buy in that small amount . I buy only in million blocks. I also get better prices.

I'm not an 'expert', 'not even a cr@py one':giggle: in these things but I don't think there will be a price movement until at least it goes electronic.

Perhaps he means in increments of 100,000 shares eg 100,000 200,000 300,000 etc,. :eek::eek:

I think CTD is correct. I just got results on a order was submitted as 9 stocks totaling 1.7 million dinar. The order was reduced to 6 stocks @ 600,000 dinar (100,000 dinar each). Don't know the significance but it reminds me in the early days of the ISX when whatever you ordered would invariably be greatly reduced in the actual # of shares purchased due to limited or no offerings on that given trading day.

They are probably trying to stop the threat of someone buying too much stock and gaining control of a company. Does anyone buy stocks from a different broker in Iraq?

I order the stocks in lums amount and I tell them what I am willing to offer. They then place that offer out there. Most people here just say buy me 100000 shares of walkaa. they pay high price.

Could it be possible they aren't getting as many stock orders as before so by increasing the minimum to 100,000 they're hoping to get more commission?

If I was to buy 50'000 shares of National Bank of Iraq @ 1 IQD per share, Warka would receive a massive 2% = 1000 IQD. So for all the effort and work they'd have to put in they'd get under $1.

I'd put up the minimums as well!!! LOL.

There will be 3 blocks to fill in:

Not so sure about the part in red. With the old 50'000 rule, I used to send in requests for 50k of one share, 70k of another. Never had a problem.

I think as long as you want at least 100k shares of each company you'll be fine. So you could place an order for 130'000 shares. Only one way to find out for sure though.

The 15,000 dinar is for your LOGON password.

The transfer password is different and you select and verify it...and there is no charge for this.

You use the transfer password if you want to send USD from Warka to your U.S. bank.
