Living in the New York area I listen to WABC in the morning. Today they had on an Assyrian Christian Priest just in from Iraq. After speaking about the specific issues of the Assyrians he said a few things that I thought important from someone who is on the ground over there:
Although Iraq is made up of many groups of people who for the most part dislike each other, the consensus among the Iraqi people he knows is that it is important to keep Iraq together as one country. His suggestion was to have several sectors (he equated them to states within the US) where each group could have some governmental control over itself without dividing the country like Yugoslavia.
Since the handover of power, US troops are scarce on the city streets. Iraqi police and military are for the most part keeping the peace in the areas he moves about in.
Property values have increased more than 500% since the liberation from Saddam.
I was encouraged by these comments and at the end of the interview had a new sense of urgency about having my dinar position where I want it to be.

Thank you for sharing this information. It may not appear to be ground breaking news, however it is EXACTLY the type of value that we can provide to one another through this forum. Good job! :happy64:

Officially, Iraqi Christian clerics put on a positive face. In reality, Iraqi Christians are leaving the country by the thousands. They are first traveling to Syria or Jordan, then they try to get visas for Australia, America, Canada or western Europe. 40,000 Iraqi Christians left Iraq after the August bombings.

...and God says kill scum bags. Peace unto the peace makers, death unto murdering scum.
"THOU SHALT NOT JUDGE"
WOW God says "Kill Scum Bags"? That is amazing that they had slang terms back then. Amazing. Truly. Can you point that out to me? Dang. I should just go on a killing rampage right now, cuz there are a lot of scum bags in this world. Wait, is it my criteria on a what a scum bag is or God's? Does he have a list of criterias? Can you show me them too?
What happened to no religious conversations on this board? Trust me I am not knocking religion. I am in fact in the middle of reading the bible from cover to cover (long journery there), but this is not the place (as Danpeg has said many times before) to have conversations of religion. If you want to talk religious shop, perhaps you should ask Danpeg to open a religious thread for you that enjoy doing this. Just a thought.
Thanks for listening... and Lasagnabro. I am not knocking you. I am just stating why religion should not be brought up. My view is different then yours and I find it offensive to bring in God this way having him saying things such as "Kill Scum Bags" Religion is too touchy and personal to bring up here.
