This country is being set up for one of the biggest influxes of investment accross all markets from Agriculture to infrastructure transportation Oil shipping the world has ever seen all early days will be interesting watching it all unfold over the years.

Default Citibank and IQD as of 11/20/2008

Response to email asking about an IQD account with Citibank:
    --------------------------

    Dear Sir,

Please note that we only hold a USD account and it is not possible to hold or transfer IQD through Citibank.

    Best regards,

It would be a good question to ask him (next time) If it is legal to have IQD outside or Iraq,

Most take for granted that it is. As he is in the banking proffession his opinion (or factual information) would be appreciated

Not to mention the fact that one of the Saudi princes just up his shares. He now owns 5% of the bank.

I went to my bank today and they called someone in the wire dept. They said that the wire looks good on their end. My bank has initiated a Trace through SWIFT to track the funds. I will know more in 2 days and keep you posted. Like I mentioned earlier, anyone wiring money to Warka, I would use Dressner Bank for now until I figure out what went wrong using CitiBank.

I also wired USD to Citibank NY on 11/20/08. By my mistake, my bank did not list my IQD account # in a memo field on the online transfer form. I confirmed the transfer made it to Warkas Citi account the next day. The funds are in Warka Banks account, waiting on instruction from Warka. I have informed Warka Bank and just waiting for a response back. I'm not worried, I've never had a problem with Warka Bank.

FYI - Make sure your Warka Account number is listed in the Beneficary memo field on the online transfer form.

Good Luck, I see good things coming our way!

Thanks for the info TNJ. It's good to hear that your funds made it to Warka's account at Citibank. Mr. I is also instructing me on what steps I need to take to rectify my situation. I have nothing but great things to say about Mr. I. He is really trying to help me out here.

OK guys, I am happy to report that my funds have finally arrived in my Warka account. Special thanks to Mr. I for all of his hard work in getting to the bottom of this matter. I can now recommend depositing at Warka through Citibank. My deposit was 500.00 usd and 495.00 was desposited. That means that Citibank only took $5.00 out of it! Much less than the $50.00+ that Dressner used to take from it. That $45.00 could potentially be worth 45k dollars with the extra dinars it would give me + a nice RV!

    THANK YOU MR. I

I wired the money on 11/12/08 and it finally made it into my account on 12-16-08. Mr. I said that a wire transfer usually takes 4 days from when you wire, until it's in your account (mine was the exception).

Luko, did you want to know the process to wire the money? Or the process to try and find the money if it get's lost during the wire as in my case?

Sorry, didnt feel like reading all the posts. My question are, do we need a Citi account to transfer to warka? I opened a warka account about a year ago but have yet to deposit. Can someone PM Mr. I email so I can track down my Warka account info? Lastly, can you buy Dinar through Citi now?

    Just1Chance,

I think they delete your account if you haven't deposited within 6 month's time.

I just opened one last Sunday on-line, and had the account #'s confimred on the 16th.

Went today to transfer funds but got confused with the details they needed to do the transaction (it si form England) so we had to abort the mission.

Now trying to find out exactly how to! Anyone able to help?

From the 'News' section at Warka's website:

We look forward to unleashing the full force of the partnership with Citibank for the benefit of the new Iraq.

Below are our account details at Citibank in which you can now direct your wire transfers to fund your accounts at our bank.

I contacted Citibank to determine the legitimacy of this information. Citibank confirmed the wire transfer information as accurate but said there was no "relationship" beyond the basic wire transfer information. I could wire money just as easily through Western Union. So it sounds to me like Warka is trying to imply there is more here than there really is. Has anyone else looked into this?

I contacted Citibank to confirm this information. Citibank did confirm that the wire transfer information is correct but that there is no "relationship between Citibank and Warka beyond a wire destination. It is just as easy and secure to wire through Western Union. I think Warka is trying to imply something that really isn't there. Anybody else try to confirm this?
