    Sad day at newtown

Just like to say how sad i was to hear about the deaths of all those children and adults at the Newtown Primary School, hopefully no one on here had kids or family members in this School.

    Very sad.

    sane people
    were armed,

    the crazy people
    would get off
    fewer shots.

Since this has gone political. Obama shed a tear on this sad occasion, all the while he sends patriot missals to Turkey.

Even the left should have trouble with that.

Sorry for starting this post about how saddened i was to hear about the 20 Children and 8 Adults being shot to death in Newtown, the last thing a wanted was to start an argument about how when people get shot you need more guns to solve the problem.

The government doesn't care if there is a shooting in fact they want it to take away guns from private citizens. If you think that is crazy listen to this. I have a close friend who has some really screwed up kids that are going to college, she has on two occasions called the university in Florida to warn them of her child being unstable and dangerous. They did nothing, even after this shooting nothing is being done.
    Why would they do nothing?

Yes strange as it might seem i can understand what you have said, and fully understand how governments work the figures to their own satisfaction.

I also know that if any tighter gun laws came into force it would hit the honest sports /collectors and gun owners more then it would harm the nutters, as i have said many times on here when we have these chats, since we had ours almost banned we seem to have more guns and more crims prepared to use them with ease then ever before, but then again because my country is so open to Eastern Europe and the rubbish it has collected most guns are coming in through their.
I also understand your country is big and your population is large so stricter gun control would be very hard to police.

Here are some gun statitics printed in one of our papers today, in the newspaper, not my facts.

94,388 people shot in the US so far this year.
39 people killed by firearms in England and Wales over 12 months in 2008/9.
190 people shot in the US on Saturday alone.
11 is the minimum age in Minnesota to be eligible for a firearms certificate.
50 shots fired by a lone gunman at a shooping mall in California a day after the massacre (no one injured).
50% of guns worldwide are in the US-but just 5 per cent of global population.
231 people killed in US mass shootings (four or more dead) since May 2009.
95 shots used by German police in 2011 (including 49 warning shots).
90 shots used by LA police to kill a 19 -year old old man after a high speed car chase.
300 million is the number of privately owned firearms in the US.
40% of gun purchases in the US do not need background checks.
10% of women living in the US own at least one gun.
42 of the 50 states of the US do not ban or regulate assault rifles.
    70,000 women aged 51 to 65 who gained a concealed-weapons permit in May 2012.
1 is the number of mass murders that have been carried out by women.
35 people were killed by firearms in Australia in a single year.
60 people were killed by firearms in Spain in a single year.
9,484 people were killed by firearms in the US in the same 12 months.
