Thread: KBR owes Iraq $208m

  1. Default KBR owes Iraq $208m

"A UN auditing board has recommended that the US reimburse Iraq up to $208m for work carried out by the US-based Kellogg, Brown & Root, in the last two years.
The International Advisory and Monitoring Board of the Development Fund for Iraq said in a report that the work, paid for with Iraqi oil proceeds, was either overpriced or poorly done by the Halliburton subsidiary. "

    Not surprising.

Well, it's a RECOMMENDATION, KBR doesn't actually owe it as of right now. If the US does figure out that KBR definitely owes this money to Iraq then that wouldn't surprise me.

The UN needs to comply with a lot of recommendations meant for them before they start issueing their own.

    What's "not surprising"?

What I find not surprising is, so many people take the media's bait, hook, line, and sinker, without any cognitive thought or research of their own.

What isn't surprising is that a huge billion dollar company is once again exploiting the less fortunate.

I don't understand how "bait" applies here being that it was a UN auditing board made up of people from the Pentagon and US Government. That sounds pretty official to me.

I don't see how I could do my own research or add any "cognitive thought" to this. It looks pretty concrete to me and the sources seem pretty legit.

Which is why this deserves no further response.

The U.N. needs to take care of it's own business before pointing fingers at someone else.
