    Default Possible scenario

...perhaps some people have read this before,
but found an excellent article at

    www.jhu.edu/~iaesbe/Iraq.pdf

...now this was written in 2003, and the first 2-3 pages have
been overtaken by events, but the document goes to analyze
similar situations like that we now find in Iraq concerning retooling
    a monetary system..
Interesting read about the creation of a Currency Board,..
Even more interesting was this little nugget...

I suspect these are all just suggestions from these two men that wrote this.
But it is a interesting read.
The Euro seems to play a dominate roll in it all.

....yes, but I had never heard about a 30-day bidding period by
all the "major" currency traders, whose results are passed to a
"panel of judges" who will decide the rate...

It that were to come to pass, can you imagine all the hysteria
of all us here during those 30 days? ;-)

A previous post in July 2004 by Marilyn touched on this same subject.

While it is just 2 guys opinion...they do have pretty good
credentials. I like to read/hear differing opinions..even if I disagree.

That nugget is OBE. Iraq did not dollarize or euroize. Iraq issued a new currency, and they didn't adopt a currency board, they adopted a managed float exchange regime.
