BAGHDAD, Nov 25 will become the first bank in the country to join the global foreign exchange dealing system of Thomson Reuters Corp <TRI.TO> <TRI.N>, a joint statement said on Wednesday.
The bank will use the system to help Iraqi companies trade internationally as the country returns to global financial markets, said Zaid A. Mahdi, TBI's vice-president for business development.
State-owned TBI was established in 2003 to facilitate Iraq's international trade and reconstruction after the U.S. invasion of the country and the ouster of Saddam Hussein. TBI said it had relationships with 120 banks in 39 countries.

All it means is that a local bank for the first time will be able to provide Forex Trading services to its local Iraqi customers.

It has nothing to do with the Dinar since the Iraqi Dinar is NOT trading on the Forex at this time.

    Positive news though.....

If Ameritrade deals in Foreign Currency, and it is in fact true that the Dinar will become internationally tradeable through all of this, then yes.

But, I thought Ameritrade just dealt the stocks, etc.

You maybe gettting making stock trades and making foreign currency trades confused. They are completly different markets.

It's a good job this forum doesn't rely on you to provide any news. We would be waiting all day.

And when that is all done if the CBI has not increased it's reserves enough for an adjustment..............the only other way for an increase in the rate is to pull in some of the currency to be destroyed!

Keep in mind EB, that they are not even thinking about exploring for new oil wells yet. They have not even worked to finish the auctions for the second round of contracts for the wells they have now. That being said, HCL... LONG time off. But honestly, I dont think they will even NEED it. They are working with the Saddam Oil Law (S.O.L.... no pun intended). That being said, the HCL is NOT nessesary for a reval. It would be nice, but is not critical. You can do alot with whats on the table now.

Now using what they have now ..... there is the kicker... getting them to DO it... but how many times have we said this?

    Lets see what happens..
