BAGHDAD, 19 Jan 2006 (IRIN) - Nearly 200 families have been displaced in the western governorate of Anbar as a result of a military offensive launched by US troops backed by the Iraqi Army on 15 December.

The operation, dubbed “Koa Canyon,” is ostensibly aimed at rooting out insurgents in the Jubbah/Baghdadi region and the city of Hit, 130 km west of the capital, Baghdad.

I am not a liberal by no means, but have been accused of being slightly liberal minded towards certain issues. I would be willing to kick and die for my country though. I hope you are speaking of hardcore "Libs" and not people with just a different veiw. It just bugs me that Western society loves to strictly classify people into certain political genres. A hardcore right wing politician in the U.S. can say one liberal minded comment and completely lose his followers and career. It's just not right. I know I'm going to get bashed on this one!

I consider myself a Republican by definition, but my heart is a main stream American.
1. I know it takes money to make money.
2. I know Businesses create jobs for none workers
3. I know we need to all get along together.
4. I know tax cuts help the rich very little and the poor even less.
5. I know we need to stay offensive and powerful about America.
6. I know our military is doing one fine job almost all the time.
7. I know I don't know everything and I think nobody does.
8. I know I would not want to live any place else but America.

On the other hand!

1. I know we can not support the world and feed everyone.
2. I know we can not attack every country that seems to be a threat.
3. I know welfare was a good program to help feed our hungry at one time.
4. I know the US should not reward women that make too many baby's just to get a check from the government no matter what color they are.
5. I know that more fathers should be held accountable for these children.
6. I know poor people can do better if they try by educating themselves more.
7. I know Democrats are trying to help the poor and pay the mothers of too many baby's and that is still rewarding the mothers for their poor judgment.
8. I know to many rich corporate crooks walk the streets free and clear even after cooking the books in company's to get the wealth they have at Innocent investors expense.

And I know what I know makes no difference if all Americans don't pull it together and work for the good of us all, and try to get along with each other.
I dont think any of this makes me a liberal but then again a liberal is only human and many are main stream Americans.
