Turkish company takes part in the renovation in Baghdad

GAP İnşaat, a construction subsidiary of Çalık Holding, will reveal a project in Iraq worth $195 million within the scope of the renovation process of the war-torn capital city of Baghdad.

The project includes the renovation of a 19-kilometer highway that links the Baghdad International Airport to the city center and 1,600 square meters of landscaping.
GAP İnşaat conducts projects in Turkey, Central Asia, Middle East and Africa.

“We are well pleased to contribute to the renovation of the historical and beautiful city of Baghdad,” said Ali Altuncu, general coordinator of GAP İnşaat, in a press release last week. “As a company that reveals giant projects all over the world, we will bring our experience, quality and technology to Baghdad,” he said.
Baghdad Municipality is conducting studies to renovate the war-struck city. Some 1,500 people will be employed in the project, which is expected to be completed in nine months .
