Where is the evidence to dollar pegging?

How do we know, and where has it been officially stated, that the dinar will be pegged to the dollar? Perhaps it is a currency that is not meant to be linked with the dollar, kinda like the yen or the peso (i think).

Please keep the speculation down to a minimum in your replys; lets get to the bottom of this.

Everything on here is "speculation"...Nobody has said for sure that it will be pegged, or to what it will be pegged....becuase nobody knows for certain!

The current situation cant last forever. Either way, someone will dominate. Once that person stands out, then the dinar will make a move. Till then, it will be sheer speculation

if its pegged to the dollar it will move with the dollar.....straight down!
im betting with warren buffet and george soros and shorting the dollar by buying up foreign currencies and gold.
euros and swiss francs naturally and the aussie dollar and vietnam dong look way underpriced.
within 5 years the worlds central banks will have switched to the euro for its currency reserves and opec will switch to the petroeuro.
paris and berlin will be the new washington and washington will be the new buenos aires!!

This pegging stuff is far too sophisticated for my mind. There is much destruction yet to be done in Iraq anyway to worry about such silly things.

wouldn't make much sense to be pegged to the dollar, but we will be able to exchange our Dinar for US currency or any other recognized currency at the current exchange rate.

I posted that information a few months back. If you're real bored go and look at my posts and find 'why Iraq will/won't peg to the dollar'. There's a link to a report written by an economist who explains that exact scenario. I think it's page 8 where it's explained in layman's terms. Ok I was bored and wanted to re-read the info: Here it is:

This report has some heavy economic mumbo jumbo, but it explains the reason for a floating currency pretty well. This system seems best for the interim in the case of the Dinar. Basically a currency that 'floats' is allowed to depreciate when world markets are down. Page 8 has the best explanation.
