Kurdish MPs from Nineveh demand dismantling its PC
15/03/2012 14:02:00 Baghdad (NINA) – A number of Kurdish MPs from Nineveh Province demanded to dismantle the Nineveh Provincial Council and hold early elections.
MP Mohama Khalil said in a press conference held in the Parliament building that “the demand comes in response to the decision of suspending the application of constitutional article 140 in the province.”
He demanded the Parliament and the federal government to question the Nineveh PC because “it violated the constitution. It also does not represent the Nineveh locals.”
He regarded the PC decision as baseless and does not serve the Iraqi status.
The Nineveh PC decided yesterday to ban dealing with the constitutional article 140 in all office and departments of the province.
