Workshop in Erbil international bank supervision

Hosted by the Centre for private sector development in Iraq (PSDC) oversaw the successful workshop organized by the World Bank with the support of the Swedish Agency for development and cooperation (SIDA).

The workshop was attended by representatives from the Centre for private sector development and private sector development experts from the World Bank in Iraq and the Swedish Agency for development and cooperation, many Iraqi Chambers of Commerce from Basra to Dahuk. They met with representatives of the Swedish Chambers of Commerce including the President of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce.

The workshop included the role of business cases, and policy advocacy, and women's empowerment and leadership for business.

On the second day of the workshop was the Swedish Trade Minister Eva biorlngh, a word about investment opportunities in Iraq, expressing high expectations for greater investment and economic bilateral cooperation between Iraq and Sweden.

Exchange of private sector representatives in Iraq views and experiences with their counterparts from the Swedish side and expressed hope for further cooperation.

This event is an important achievement towards enhancing bilateral trade relations between Iraq and Sweden as a first step towards building the capacity of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce and private sector development.
