16/06/2012 19:40 ERBIL, June 16 (AKnews) - Withdrawing confidence from Iraq's Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is the position of all fractions in the Kurdish Blocs Coalition (KBC), said a KBC member in Iraq's parliament.

Mahma Khalil said: "The Kurdish voices are united in the political Kurdish parties about withdrawing confidence from Maliki in the parliament hall."

Khalil added that the withdrawal process will begin again with the start of the parliament session. It is expected to be successful this way, said the MP.

"Not only the Kurdistan Democratic Party wants the withdrawal, all Kurdish lists want it."

The KBC consists of 33 Kurdistan Democratic Party MPs, 13 Patriotic Union of Kurdistan MPs, four from the Islamic Union and two from Komal.

President of Iraq Jalal Talabani two weeks ago rejected the request for withdrawing confidence from Maliki. Talabani said in statement that the number of collected signatures amounted to 160, not enough for the legal quorum of 164. For that reason Talabani decided not to send the signatures to the House of Representatives and returned them to the Kurdistan Region's presidency.
