Any idea what the rate is?
Answered my own question. 3.5% twice a year. Still better than the US.

Got mine too. Just wonder what year I can actually have it! In all honesty, I think Warka will be fine, but who knows when.

What's wrong with that for the time being...get more bank stocks. Big Brother CBI, regulating Warka, allowing this to happen, is a good sign. I'm still long here...on banks with foreign interests, that's where the business will come from. It's the good ole buddy system...I've got just the loan for you building xxx, I'll give you 1% interest, all I want is 1% ownership. Go look at Middle East Bank's investment portfolio, they have a high ownership in a of a lot of companies. You only have to hit on a few.

BIME was number 2 in bank size for private banks. I have not checked it lately.
BBOB, BDSI, BCOI, BROI-Credit Bank- 75% owned by National bank of Kuwait which was Kuwait's biggest bank by market value.
I would like to see BWAI join the group.

Kickabuck usually the good banks allow you to withdraw not just deposit. I hope it works out for everyone, but I seriously have my doubts. I stated the facts as I knew them years ago about Warka. When I withdrew 100% of all funds after selling 100% of all my stocks. Yesterday my wife asks me to take a look into Warka again for some our family and friends who decided to stay the course with Warka. All I can say for sure is that several have tried to withdraw funds and have been unable. Communications have been virtually nil. Sorry I ever helped people start accounts, I am glad I came clean about what I learned when I learned it. I took some serious heat on this forum for it but none the less I told it straight. I know you don't know me from Adam. I just showed up random and started rattling, I used to help out here some. Good luck to you and the rest of the members.

Hi Lance been a long time,i always wondered why you pulled the plug on warka, were you privy to some info at the time which Warka was going, but when i read Al-Bunnies letter to his banks investors it kind of explained it a little,i feel i have been conned by warka,i have taken almost all their share offers yet he did'nt. how could the owner just let warka sink.

Do you have any ideas about warka and its out come with it toutlage with CBI for us investors still with warka.

We can not withdraw funds from Warka while they are under sanctions; Saad Al-Bunnia(owner of Warka) is working hard to straighten out the problem, mostly politics. If you think the US (Dem & Republicans/ play hardball,it's nothing like the Sunni/Shia problem.Maliki (Shia) totally withdrew ALL goverment money from Warka (Al-Bunnia-Sunni),causing this problem. ALL of our money in Warka bank is FULLY guaranteed by the CBI,and our stocks held in proxy is a totally different part of Warka, and is protected also. They also withdrew all money from Basrah Bank, causing them the same problems. So,be patient, all will work out fine!!!

I am sorry I have not been in contact with Warka Bank in years. The information I had about Warka Bank I shared with the forum membership. I am hopeful they will straighten out the problems and continue business as usual. I didn't drop in to fan any old flames just trying to help some friends tie up some loose ends. Maybe in the years to come.
