Government Transport Minister empowered to negotiate debts regarding Kuwait

Baghdad (IBA) ... The Government has decided to authorize the Minister of transport, Hadi al-Amri negotiation with the State of Kuwait about the compensation implications of Kuwait Airways Corporation due to damage to its aircraft during the former regime's invasion of Kuwait in 1990.

Spokesman alhakomhali Al-Dabbagh in brief that the Government had decided to '' authorize transportation Secretary power to negotiate with the Kuwaiti Government on the mechanism of compensation and settlement of Kuwaiti claims on Kuwait Airways debt».

And Iraqi and Kuwaiti Governments had signed during the visit of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to Kuwait on 14 March agreement dropping suits, judgments filed by Kuwait Airways against Iraqi counterpart. (End)
