Source: Iraqis in Syria are being targeted under the pretext of supporting the Syrian regime
Shafaq News / An informed source revealed on Sunday that the armed groups are targeting the Iraqis residing in Syria under the pretext of their support for Assad regime.
The source, who declined to be named to the sensitivity of the information, told "Shafaq News" that "the Iraqi refugees in Syria are being targeted by armed groups under the pretext of providing support and assistance to the Syrian regime."
"Iraqis in Syria are currently suffering from kidnapping, extortion and killing,” the source added.
It is said that a security source revealed, last Tuesday the arrival of 21 bodies of Iraqi residents in Syria to Waleed border port in Anbar province.
The Iraqi Prime Minister , Nuri al-Maliki has called on Friday, the United Nations to intervene "urgently" to protect Iraqis in Syria and facilitate their return to the country, pointing out that Iraqis are killed and looted, stressing forgiveness for those who adopted negative attitudes and did not get involved "by the blood shedding."
The Iraqi government has called on its Iraqi nationals living in Syria last week to leave after the Council of Ministers has formed a special team to manage the repatriation of stuck refugees by the management of the Transport Minister, Hadi al-Amiri.
