Anyone have any updates on current status of CBI conservatorship with Warka?

    Cool Warka Update...Guardianship, ISX

I sent an email the other day to Warka's head of foreign relations, Mr. I asking if Warka would be issuing the 33% free shares it promised its shareholders in 2010 and 2011 but never did. Here's the reply I received today:

    "Dear Sir,

The CBI has been appointed guardian and trustee of the bank to support the bank in finalizing its capital increase and boost its operations as well as collecting its debt from creditors.

The daily operations of the bank are running smoothly and regularly where we are accepting deposits and opening accounts per standard daily practice.

With regards to Warka stock...once we finalize our affairs with the Iraqi Company Registration Office and Capital Increase...we will trade regularly on the ISX."

Well...we may not see our free shares but it looks like we'll see Warka back trading again on the ISX...hopefully some day "soon"!

Hang tough folks, and we will be fine with Warka. The CBI fully guarantees ALL deposits, and stocks with Warka are a totally seperate division; They, too, are safe.Just be patient a little longer!!!!

    Default Warka

Yes, I do. I talked with Bill Burbank, who sits on the board of the ISX,and is a VERY large customer of Warka Bank. He assured me there were NO problems with Warka Bank.

phew......... thank goodness for that !!!!

Can you ask Bill why Warka are still in guardianship and why I cant transfer my money out ?
Also why their stock price has been frozen for over two years and why there has been NO communication to the customers giving re-assurance on their status.

    thanks

I remember a good few years ago now that Crow told us that we should expect to enter a period of 'lockout' regarding the ISX. Maybe this is that period he was talking about?
    what, no blini?
