Oil seeking to contract the French total alhalvaih field after its contract with the Kurdistan region

The oil Ministry announced on its quest to cancel a total French in field halvaih in the governorate of Missan Oil, indicating that it came after signing agreements to develop oil in the Kurdistan region, confirmed that Iraq was preparing to invite international oil companies to develop the giant Nasiriyah oil field.

Director of contracts and licensing oil Ministry Abdel Mahdi Amidi told media that "Iraq seeks to cancel the share of total, the French oil halvaih field in Maysan governorate, after signing company agreements to develop oil in Kurdistan", threatening to "contract of any company signs deal with Kurdistan without the approval of the Ministry of oil."

Amidi said that "Iraq is poised to invite international oil companies to develop the giant Nasiriyah oil field and refinery construction in bidding round will be rescheduled soon."

The Iraqi Government has warned, in June 2012, French companies sign oil contracts with the Kurdistan region and any other regional or local authorities, saying it would lead to the cancellation of contracts with such companies.

And the French company total, 31 July, they signed an agreement to buy a stake in two oil in Kurdistan, at a time when the Central Government warned that such a step would be contrary to the law.
