Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) renewed on Thursday, its accusations on Baghdad of misusing the army in political conflicts and violating the agreements signed with Irbil, under the supervision of the United States of America.

According to a government statement posted on its official website "the Council of Ministers of Kurdistan Region held on Wednesday evening, its typical atheist meeting headed by, Najervan Barzani at the presence of his deputy, Imad Ahmed" stressing that "the Ministry of Peshmarga has submitted a special report on the current status in the disputed areas, which witnessed military movements by the Iraqi army.”

"The report noted with the reliable evidences that the Iraqi military degenerated in those areas and has proved the existence of clear violations to the agreements signed between the KRG and the federal government in Baghdad, under the supervision of the United States of America."

“The Ministry of Peshmarga report stated in detail , the Iraqi government evading from the mechanisms of the presence of military forces in the disputed areas", highlighting on "the plans and programs of the Iraqi government , its lack of commitment to the Constitution and the conventions and its quest to mobilize military forces and use the army in political issues and conflicts."

"The report also pointed to (Baghdad’s) evading and its withdrawal step by step from the obligations , agreements and mechanisms that have been agreed upon in advance with Kurdistan Regional Government,” The statement added.

The relationship between Erbil and Baghdad has witnessed a dangerous escalation after Baghdad moved pieces of the army towards the disputed areas in Nineveh province, and after Erbil has moved the Peshmarga troops to prevent the Iraqi army from entering into these areas because of Erbil claims from the lack of coordination of Baghdad with it according to previous agreements signed by the two sides under a U.S. supervision and the presence.
